Nature Arts
What is Nature Arts?
On the first Saturday of every month TFN members interested in painting, sketching, photography or writing gather for an outing.
The group is allowed individual time during the morning to pursue their interest at the designated location. The group's volunteer leader is responsible for reconvening the members for lunch. Lunch may be bringing your own picnic or may be purchased at a food court or coffee shop.
After lunch members share examples of the work they have been doing. Its an opportunity to network and support each person's development.
For many years now the Nature Arts participants have submitted examples of their work to the TFN Newsletter to be printed, to illustrate the articles, or for the enjoyment of other TFN members.
In 2008 the group exhibited artwork at the Papermill Gallery, Todmorden Mills in honour of the 85th anniversary of the Toronto Field Naturalists.
Any interested TFN member is invited to join this informal gathering. In March 2009 the Writers' Group was launched as a part of Nature Arts.
