Public Walk – Come to Know our Reptile Friends!

Join us on Tuesday, February 10th at 12:30 pm for an indoor event at the Mystik Café in Kensington Market.

Leader: Paul Overy

Location: 56C Kensington Ave., Toronto

Description: This outing will be a shared visit at the Mystik Café, a remarkable new space in the Kensington Market area, which offers opportunities to experience and learn about our reptile friends, with a comfortable café sharing the space.

The experience will be a 1-hour guided session in the reptile jungle area, led by one of the animal ambassadors. You can learn more about the Café at www.mystikcafe.ca.

The learning experience is scheduled on Tuesday, February 10 from 1:00–2:00 pm. Prior to arrival, to ensure a smooth and efficient check-in, the Café asks all guests to complete this waiver prior to arrival.

Participants should plan to arrive by 12:30, to check in, pay the admission fee, enjoy their complimentary refreshment, attend the short mandatory info session before the experience and be ready for the session to start promptly at 1 pm.

The group size is limited to 16 people, and pre-registration is essential. Event is full.  This is a paid event, through the Mystik Café. Depending on the number of registrants, the discounted group rate will drop from the usual $33.99 to as low as $26.99 + tax per person, payable upon arrival at Mystik. The exact amount will depend on the final number of registrants.

The TFN outing leader will meet participants as they arrive, briefly introduce the exhibit, and will then introduce participants to the facility Director and the animal ambassador, who will lead the visit and learning experience.

After the visit, interested participants can gather to discuss their experience at a nearby restaurant.

Toronto Field Naturalists wishes to acknowledge this Land through which we walk. For thousands of years, the Land has been shared by the Wendat, the Haudenosaunee, and the Anishinaabe. Toronto is situated on the Land within the Toronto Purchase, Treaty 13, the traditional and treaty Lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. This territory is also part of the Dish with One Spoon Wampum, a covenant agreement between Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, Wendat peoples and allied nations to peaceably share the land and all its resources. Today, the Land is home to peoples of numerous nations. We are all grateful to have the opportunity to continue to care for and share the beauty of this Land.
