2020 Youth Summit Sponsorship Available

As in previous years, TFN will again be sponsoring students in the GTA to attend Ontario Nature’s annual Youth Summit for Biodiversity and Environmental Leadership – rebranded for 2020 as the Virtual Youth Summit for Mother Earth!

For four Saturday afternoons in August & September this summit will bring together youth from dozens of communities across Ontario, helping them to build leadership skills and environmental knowledge. It will feature workshops, keynote speakers, and plenty of group activities and “challenges” to get participants outdoors like nature scavenger hunts and connecting with the land through art.

TFN is proud to be offering twelve sponsorship opportunities for youths to attend, fully covering the $150 fee. If you are a high school student in the GTA who is passionate about nature and the environment, or know someone who is, please look over the materials linked to below for more information about the summit and how to apply for sponsorship!

Applications are due by July 31st, 2020.

Toronto Field Naturalists wishes to acknowledge this Land through which we walk. For thousands of years, the Land has been shared by the Wendat, the Haudenosaunee, and the Anishinaabe. Toronto is situated on the Land within the Toronto Purchase, Treaty 13, the traditional and treaty Lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. This territory is also part of the Dish with One Spoon Wampum, a covenant agreement between Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, Wendat peoples and allied nations to peaceably share the land and all its resources. Today, the Land is home to peoples of numerous nations. We are all grateful to have the opportunity to continue to care for and share the beauty of this Land.
