Todmorden Mills Wildflower Preserve Cleanup – April 13, 10:00am to 12:00pm
Join the Todmorden Mills Wildflower Preserve Stewardship Team and TFNers aplenty for the annual cleanup of this amazing natural area. Meet on the south side of the historic buildings (67 Pottery Rd) by the entrance to the Preserve. All equipment and materials will be provided. Wear boots and dress for active outdoor activity. Annual Spring Cleanup German Mills Meadow – April 14, 1:00pm to 2:30pm
Hosted by the Settlers’ Park Residents’ Association. Meet at the fan house of German Mills Settlers’ Park (located half way along the western path of the park between John Street and the top of Leslie). Refreshments, gloves and bags will be provided.
Nature Walk and Litter Pick-up – April 20, 10:00am – 12:00pm
Theresa Moore, creator of the newly-released Fauna, Photographs will be leading a two hour circular walk along German Mills Creek to view spring wildflowers & birds, and clean up the park! Bags will be supplied. Meet at the northeast corner of Leslie St. and Steeles Ave E. Morning only. No washrooms.
CFMP Spring Vegetation Assessment – April 20, 2:00pm – 4:00pm
See first hand what TFN’s Cottonwood Flats Monitoring Project team are up to in the valley! We’ll be conducting our annual Spring Vegetation Assessment and you’re invited to pop by and say hello. Taylor Creek Park Cleanup & Campfire – April 22, 10am to 1pm
In celebration of Earth Day, please join TFN and the Friends of Taylor Creek Park for the community’s annual Ravine Cleanup & Campfire in Taylor Creek Park. Meet at the Haldon St. Firepit to be assigned a clean-up location. Come back to the firepit for a cookout and social time afterwards. More information on Facebook.
Glen Stewart Planting – April 25, 10am to 12pm
Come plant native trees and shrubs in Glen Stewart Ravine! Meet at the newly constructed entrance at 144 Balsam Ave. Equipment and materials will be provided. Don Valley Ravine Clean Up & Restoration – April 27, 10am to 2pm
Help Don’t Mess With The Don clean up the valley in honour of Earth Day. Meet at 10:00 am in the E.T. Seton Park parking lot, entrance road next to 71 Thorncliffe Park. Gloves and bags will be provided. More information on Facebook.
Glen Stewart Earth Day Celebration – April 27, 10am to 12pm
Join the Friends of Glen Stewart Ravine for a Pollinator Palooza! Ravine cleanup, native seed giveaways, and a chance to meet local bee & butterfly experts will make for an amazing morning. Join in on a morning of planting native trees and shrubs in Milliken Park to celebrate Earth Week! Meet at the southwest corner of the park by the Alton Towers Circle entrance (near the playground). Equipment and materials will be provided. Volunteers should dress for the weather, wear comfortable clothing, sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, and bring sunscreen and drinking water.
