Take the Survey about Feeding Wildlife in Toronto

The City of Toronto is reviewing its Animal Bylaw, and would like your feedback.  You can take action by completing The City’s online survey before midnight on December 17, 2021.

Many aspects of the Animal Bylaw are included in the survey, and the TFN specifically supports changes to the rules for feeding of wildlife. Feeding wildlife has serious negative impacts on ecosystems, and the TFN encourages members to respond to the survey.

The TFN recommends that bird feeders be the only form of feeding of wildlife allowed in the City of Toronto, whether on publicly- or privately-owned land.

Please take a moment to add your voice in supporting changes to the Animal Bylaw.

The Toronto Field Naturalists wish to acknowledge this land through which we walk. For thousands of years it has been the traditional land of the Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississauga of the Credit River. Today it is still the home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to be on this land.
